HS Science Olympiad

February 18, 2019

Pattonsburg HS Science Olympiad places five teams in events, sends two kids to state!?!

Nine students faced the cold temperatures and unfavorable weather to compete in the High School Olympiad today at NCMC in Trenton, Missouri. The HS Science Olympiad is a bit different that the JH one, and while we have come very close several times, this is only the second time in our school's history that we have had a team Event Qualify for state at the HS level since they started allowing it five years ago. This spring Connor Ireland and Miles Huff will be headed to the state meet in Fulton, Missouri to compete in Herpetology. Other high honors earned today include: 3rd Designer Genes (Lillian Carter & Kyle Meador); 3rd Water Quality (Cooper Teel & Miles Huff), 4th Experimental Design (Clark Adler, Makelle Hobson, Connor Ireland); 5th Geologic Mapping (Clark Adler & Makelle Hobson).

Team members are: Seniors--Connor Ireland and Makelle Hobson; junior--Clark Adler; sophomores--Cooper Teel, Kyle Meador, Miles Huff, Kaden de Jong, Lillian Carter, Wiley Butler. Sophomores Sofia Nunn and Brynn Teel are also on the team but were unable to attend the event.
