Fourth & Fifth Grades Enjoy Trip To Eagle Days

Students in the fourth and fifth grade, teachers Brenda Clark and Leslie Price, and elementary principal Alan McCrary spent Tuesday, December 2 at Squaw Creek Refuge to participate in the yearly "Eagle Days" program.   Squaw Creek was established near Mound City, Mo., in 1935 by President Franklin Roosevelt, who was concerned about the plummeting bird populations.

During the guided bus tour, the classes viewed both golden eagles and bald eages, snow geese, ducks, and muskrats.  They also were presented a live eagle program, toured exhibits, and other activities.

Squaw Creek is composed of 7,415 acres and lies along the estern edge of the Missouri River floodplain in Northwest Missouri.
